Situated in Nungwi at the Northern tip of Zanzibar, Highland Bungalows is a short stroll from the beach. The guest house offers a restaurant and open-plan bar. Guests can make use of the outdoor swimming pool that is surrounded by a garden. The African-themed rooms are housed in thatched bungalows. Each has a bathroom with shower and the beds are draped with a mosquito net. Local and International dishes can be ordered at the restaurant. Cocktails and drinks can be enjoyed at the bar, which also hosts regular live music events and evening entertainment. Kisauni Airport is a 1 hour drive from Highland Bungalows.

"Breakfast was included in the room price, and it was good and plentiful. The room had aircondition. Warm water was available from the shower. The pool was clean and cozy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There were organized activities during our stay, such as the African BBQ buffet night. I was very satisfied with the accommodation. The walk to the beach took about 15 minutes."

"It will be nice some soap and shampoos in the room and a little bit more variety at breаkfast. Be aware not to pay in dollars - their exchange rate is the worst I've seen in all of Tanzania. It will be better paying with card despite the commission of the banks."

"Lovely place to stay at if you are in Nungwi. Location was good, close enough to restaurants and ATMs. About 10 min of walking to Nungwi Beach or an even quicker tuk-tuk ride. The rooms met our expectations, spacious enough for two people and we had housekeeping everyday. The host and all the staff were so sweet and accommodating, always willing to help. Special thanks to Pendo who was so welcoming and warm, such a lovely person. Overall, the vibes were great here and would definitely book again."
"The water in the bathroom was salty and did affect affect our skin, especially the face. So if you have sensitive skin I'd suggest using bottled water to wash your face or using face wipes."

"The staff is very kind and helpful, the rooms are very clean, the food is good, and there is cute little monkey too , that shows up sometime. The beach is about a 10–15 minute walk away. When you leave the accommodation, it’s best to turn left and just follow the road all the way."
