Newly opened in January of 2018, St. John’s Hotel is located along Gangmun Beach in Gangneung. The hotel houses over 1000 guest rooms and suites as well as a seasonal infinity pool, banquet facilities and restaurants. "Ligging aan de zee is fantastisch! Zeer comfortabele en nette kamer, housekeeping heel goed, badjassen (zelfs voor de kids!) en ook het parkeren erg fijn. Faciliteiten om de voeten te wassen na bezoek aan het strand. Winkeltjes en eetgelegenheden dichtbij. Verhuur van gezellige scooters voor het hele gezin aan de overkant. Vriendelijk personeel."
"Personeel was erg vriendelijk maar men spreekt gebrekkig Engels, dat was wel jammer en zorgde voor miscommunicatie meerdere keren. Apart hij betalen voor het zwembad. Executive lounge, prima, netjes maar wel elke dag hetzelfde eten. Bovendien mocht je maar een uur binnen per keer. Verkeer: niet veilig om over te steken, zebrapad op de openbare weg reden auto’s hard en stopten niet terwijl je met kinderen oversteekt en ook op het zebrapad in de parkeergarage van het hotel was het niet altijd veilig. Lang wachten op de lift."
"유아와 동반하여 키즈룸에 숙박했습니다. 키즈룸 투숙객에게 제공되는 키즈클럽 클래스 참여에 더해 오후패키지도 하나 더 예약하여 아이가 여행을 더 즐겁게 보낼 수 있도록 계획했습니다. 키즈룸, 세인트 키즈클럽 모두 기대 이상이었습니다. 제주도로 여행을 떠나려다 세인트존스 강릉으로 선회하였던 것인데, 매우 좋은 선택이었다고 생각합니다. 유아~초등학교 저학년 자녀를 둔 부모라면 한 번쯤 꼭 투숙해보시길 권장합니다."
"펫 프렌들리 호텔이다 보니 엘리베이터, 복도 등에서 반려견 냄새가 납니다. 미화 담당 직원분들이 쉴새 없이 청소하고 계심에도 불구하고, 워낙 많은 수의 반려견들이 돌아다니고, 스프레이 하기도 하고, 호텔 복도나 로비 일부는 카펫으로 되어있다보니 어쩔 수 없는 부분 같기도 합니다. 반려견 냄새를 참기 힘든 분들에게는 큰 단점이 될 수도 있겠습니다. 저와 저희 가족은 참을만 했지만 유쾌하진 않았습니다."

"La mancanza di alcune accortezze come l’assenza di cucchiaini in camera (se si vuole fare un caffè o un tè visto che è disponibile il bollitore e le tazze non si può mescolare) e la colazione continentale non inclusiva: mancanza di possibilità come “senza lattosio/glutine”, caffè decaffeinato oltre essere quasi totalmente senza frutta (solo pompelmo e uva erano presenti). Sempre in tema possibilità: eviterei il tè inglese visto che in Corea ci sono moltissimi tè molto buoni (matcha di Jeju o tè verdi di varie regioni della penisola)."
