"A Pleasant Surprise at Palm Garden! We booked Palm Garden without checking any reviews—only afterward did we take a look and feel a bit unsure. My husband even told me not to say anything about the booking, just to see how it was when we got there. But to our surprise, from the moment we arrived, everything was wonderful. At the doorstep, we were greeted by Madu at reception, who welcomed us with the warmest smile—as if we had known her for years! 😊 Our room was spotlessly clean, very spacious, with a large comfortable bed and a lovely balcony overlooking a beautiful view. It was clear that the staff really care about maintaining a high standard."

Room had lingering smoke smell. Would be better if they could look into this and place a room feshner. Suggestion-would be better if you provide small soaps/shampoos for guests along with the towels and tissues.

The only issue is that I’ve stayed in similar hostels, but the price was nowhere near as expensive. I know it’s in Zurich, but it’s still a hostel.

Horrible bed because you feel all bed springs from the mattress which significantly affects your sleeping. Moreover, air conditioning is very noisy even when it is not turned on.

Dorms are by the main road and very noisy with traffic so hard to sleep. Creaky floorboards also.

It was also very convenient that they can help you book buses directly at the hostel, and that you can rent e-bikes. Another big plus is the atmosphere. The hostel is social, but not in an overwhelming way. It’s not loud or pushy. There are great opportunities to connect with other travelers if you want, but you can also just sit by the pool and enjoy some quiet time. I think this place is perfect both for people looking for peace and quiet and for those who want to meet others."

There wasn’t much to complain about. The only small improvement I can think of would be adding curtains to the beds, which would give a bit more privacy.

Not easy to access by bike

"Nice conceptual hostel run by two people who really want to welcome you to Bolivia."

My room was very cold. Even though the landlady turned on the heater earlier than she said she would, it still didn't help much.

"The owner or staff of his hostel was very frendly and did everything to welkom us and serve us. The hotel is also in the center and behind are many nice cafés."

Sehr rustikal, viele Moskitos im Zimmer, die ziemlich genervt haben, kein Ventilator, aber zum Schlafen gab es aber ein Moskitonetznetz! leider hat es immer wieder geregnet und da das Badezimmer draussen war, musste ich durch den Regen, am WC hat es auch geregnet, Kakalaken in der Dusche und dem WC

"Just a regular hostel with rooms. The walls are thin so you can easily hear some noise from other guests. If you need the place just to stay somewhere and rest - it’s OK, but don’t expect anything special from it."

The common is also very nice and the beach is very close by. Overall, this hostel is excellent value for money!"

While it is great that this hostel is right next to the beach, it is a little bit of a walk from the main train station (around 20 minutes). It also gets a little confusing when it comes to how to get to the hostel when crossing the bridge. These are only minor things but worth mentioning, especially if you are walking from the main train station.

It also gets a little confusing when it comes to how to get to the hostel when crossing the bridge. "Great helpful staff, freshly cleaned room. I arrived earlier than planned and they quickly swept and mopped the room and made up my bed while I waited. Super central location. Showers were hot. Got given a roll of toilet paper on check in which seems like a great solution to previous negative reviews saying toilet paper ran out and wasn't topped up. Great value for money"

There was no common area to hang out in like a lounge or courtyard or kitchen, but even still I made new friends just in my dorm room, in the corridor and in the bathroom while brushing my teeth. Probably not ideal for light sleepers as there is a karaoke bar nearby but I really enjoyed being able to hear all the singing!

"I had a truly wonderful stay here. The front desk staff was incredibly nice, patient, and easy to talk to, he made the whole experience even better. The hotel has everything you would need, including a hair dryer. The bathroom and shower were especially great, very clean and comfortable. I was also really touched by the sign at the entrance of the bathroom clearly stating “Female Toilet, males not allowed.” It shows real respect for women and made me feel very safe. Little details like this genuinely warm your heart. I honestly don’t understand why this hotel has such a low rating on Booking. If the full score is 10, I would definitely give it a 10. Thank you again, I truly loved my stay here."
