"From an airport bus stop, it was a long distance to the villa to walk along a road with a luggage! I was grateful that after a lot of struggle on my own, I contacted the owner, he met me and drove in his car to their property"

I liked the place. It was good for having a rest from busy places and enjoying the peace and beauty of a small village near the sea. It was hard to rely on public transport. If you have your car, then everything should be great

"The personal attention of the wonderful owner stood out for us. He went out of his way to collect us from the ferry and take us to the airport the next day. He provided us with a fabulous breakfast too - the best we’ve had over our whole trip. We loved meeting him and talking to him."

There wasn’t anything we disliked.

"Beautiful location and a more friendly owner is hard to find! Shodman ate dinner with us, told us about the area, took us on a fantastic hike and helped organize our trip back to Samarkand. The food was among the better we had in Uzbekistan."

The only thing that was not great was that since we were there in November it was pretty cold at night even inside when eating etc but they had heating fans which worked quite well.

As all activities and transport are organized by the host, I sometimes had to wait quite long time for the driver to arrive. This was not the hosts fault, but it is important to know when planning a trip to Tanna.

"Der Frühstück war aus lokalen Produkten, ganz fein und serviert direkt im schönen Garten. C’est le plus beau et agréable endroit pour passer un moment de joie. L’accueil est adorable et sincère. L’histoire de la maison comble le reste. C’est tout simplement un musée vivant , qu’on ne peut pas oublié. Aucun compliment peut exprimer notre joie ici. "Excelente el tamaño de la habitación incluyendo su cama con sus múltiples capas de colchas para arroparse. Tenia un parador pequeño para colocar los objetos y mochilas. El baño contaba con agua caliente al girar la perilla derecha con la izquierda al ser el de frío regulaba que tan caliente uno deseaba. Excelente servicio a la habitación, incluso proveen con más rollo de papel higiénico en caso de requerir. El hotel y sus lugares aledaños son muy tranquilos y seguros. Igual uno debe ser precavido para evitar cualquier situación. La dueña del hotel responde casi inmediatamente si se presenta una novedad."

Lamentablemente uno se percató al momento de elegir en booking.com. No especifiqué desayunos, por ende no recibí mi desayuno. La habitación no estaba aislada del frío - no contaba con calefactor. La habitación solo contaba con dos jabones y no contaba con 1 satchet/frazo pequeño de shampoo.

It's hard to escape noise in this part of the world. There was some very loud music playing at local bars at night. We had to kill a lot of mosquitos

The room was clean, tidy, and pleasant, a cozy little guest unit that felt very private and welcoming. She’s also an amazing cook, the meals were delicious, thoughtful, and full of love. All around is the magical quiet of an authentic village, with green nature and a calming view. You’ll also be greeted by Chucha, the sweet family dog, who clearly loves guests and adds even more charm to the stay. A warm, peaceful local experience, exactly what I was hoping to find."

"We had such a lovely time at Nena House with Francoise as a welcoming hostess for our travel group of 4 adults and 6 kids (9-16). Being in touch with Francoise while planning the trip was very pleasant and professional. It was very nice she checked out dinner plans on the day we arrived before hand. The traditional houses are a delight, clean and with mosquito nets. The facilities are basic, and fine. The neighbor bar is nice for some festive vibes and a drink. The food is delicious. Eating breakfast in the garden with the beautiful view on the Rwandan hills is like paradise. Francoise is very kind in informing about local walks and in our case we where lucky enough to be there while there was a yearly harvest festival. She offered to go with us. We will never forget the experience of seeing the ceremony and traditional dancing and meeting some people in the village. If you plan a visit or are traveling through Ruhashia (near Kings Palace) we can highly recommend Nenas house!"

The road towards the accommodation may be a challenge for light weight cars, but -definitely with 4 wheel drives- if you take it easy it is doable and worth it!

"Wonderful apartment. Clean, comfortable, stylish. Large parking. Very friendly host. He even served us a light breakfast, which is rare for an apartment. The only thing I would add is a microwave in addition to the electric grill in the apartment, but that's a minor detail. I would recommend this apartment to my friends."
