La Grange

"Lovely warm welcome from Phillipe. This is a spacious, well appointed and interesting, ground floor apartment set in an attractive garden. Safe storage for bicycles was much appreciated. The breakfast was simple but beautifully presented and the coffee outstanding. The nights were getting cooler when we stayed and we loved the stove and bedroom heater. We would not hesitate to stay again or to recommend Le Grange to friends. (ps, best cat of the holiday!)"

"The hosts Phillipe and family were gracious and hospitable. We were wowed by the facilities, the fully operational kitchen and all amenities. We were traveling on the Via Rhona, and they accommodated us early. Their son graciously drove us to the supermarket. We enjoyed a home cooked Moroccan tagine meal - our first in 2 weeks! Be sure to ask for double servings, it was delicious!"

"The owner was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, which made a great first impression, and having access to secure parking was a huge plus. For breakfast, they use a convenient form system where you select your preferences in advance. While travelers looking for a heavy American or British-style breakfast with eggs and meat might find it simple, it was a perfectly authentic French featuring fresh baguettes, croissants, juice, fruit, yogurt, coffee/tea and preserves"

"The only drawbacks were mainly related to the layout and the timing of our arrival. Because we booked at the very last minute, the room was quite chilly upon arrival and took a long time to reach a comfortable temperature. I am sure if you had booked a day ahead, the place would have been at a nice temperature. More importantly, guests should be extremely cautious at night; there is a step between the house level and the bed area that is easy to miss in the dark. My husband unfortunately took a bad fall in the middle of the night while half-awake, and while we are thankful he only ended up with bruises, it is definitely something to watch out for."
