The location was at the foot of the hill, which was a bit disappointing. The uphill walk did not get me much higher and I could not progress further along that path.

The shelf above the bed head is rather low and it is very easy to bump into it. The duvet is rather short for an adult.

Cleanliness could be improved. Flies and mosquitoes due to location. You need to keep fly and mosquitoes repellent

"What a beautiful location on a few kms outside Amsterdam. The owners are super friendly and helped us plan our visits in the area. A working milking farm, it was amazing to wake up each morning to the sound of cattle and ducks. A beautiful experience."

The owner's agony on low power consumption is obvious. 1) the fuse controling TV & AirConditioner was off - had to do a bit of troubleshooting in order to get the TV operational 2) lighting in the room extremely low 3) stove required ~45 minutes to prepare one cup of coffee. The road to get to the property is suitable for one way traffic. If you crossed with another vehicle one of the two would have to reverse. Pet friendliness was limited to the owner's pets and was not extended to the guests' pets. The owner resented the fact that I traveled with my pet noticing that I should have informed up-front.

"The home is in great shape and is easily accessible. Check-in and check-out was well laid out in advance. We enjoyed using the kitchen to cook meals and store drinks during our stay. Having the AC in the room was a life-saver!"

Some basic kitchen amenities like paper towels and trash bags were not provided or incorrectly sized. Trash bins (inside and outside) were sometimes over-full due to the nature of the shared space.

"This is not a standard hotel or gite or whatever, this is a special place. Expect no luxury here, this is not what Karims guesthouse is about. It is about being in a small village and in nature. Basically, this is as close to a home stay as you can book on Booking. You can choose a room or the stilted house (recommended) in a garden full of interesting plants. Your water comes from a well or the river, your coffee directly from the bushes around you, and the food from...actually I don't know where, but it is amazing. One of the Kpime waterfalls is just a short, but nice walk away, and you can roam the village or take a long walk to Yikpa waterfall (~4 h one way). And when you come back, you lay in a hammock with a fresh and local cocoa or sit in the garden. And the best, you don't need to be in Kpalime, with all the chaos, noise, and smells. Although it is something different, I really enjoyed my stay. Karim is a fantastic host and La montagne verde exactly my type of stay."

Just be aware what you are booking, and there is nothing negative about it.
