"Great host, with good energy, who picked me up from quay. His accommodation was only 10 minutes away. I slept in a tent with a very good, firm mattress. Not soft. In the afternoon it can be hot in the tent, so this makes it difficult to do a nap. A camping stove is available, so this was very welcomed. Onside a nice relaxing beach, where you can enjoy the water with paddling, just swimming or gaze at the ocean. During the night this area was quiet. Bathroom is near the house and supplies cold and hot water. He knows where to get good food, and cheap transport. A mosquito net may be handy next time. I really recommend this place."

"Everything from the transfer drive in the lodge 4x4 and boat hop to the island was first class. Our tented accommodation was superb. Loved the outside shower (there is an internal shower). The included game drives and river cruise were fantastic and our guides were friendly and informative. Hippos in the river close by, monkeys in the trees. You really feel you are in the bush. Food, superb. Service, superb. Full stocked mini bar. Seating area around the fire pit, amazing. I could go on all day with positives. Highly recommend 👌"

Having to leave

"De knusheid van de boomhut, de simpelheid, net alsof je gaat kamperen. Maar dan wel met de luxe van een echt bed en een dak boven je hoofd."

De afstand om naar de badkamer te lopen was snachts in de regen wat ver.

"the slecuded. quiet peaceful grounds, the air circulation of sleeping in the tent, air flow thru mesh mosquito mesh, out side enclosed bathroom facilities,the yoga barn and good selection of books to to read in comfy arm chairs very nice plunger coffee with plunger ,over all a very pleasant 5 nights spent at this echo retreat"

maybe fresh seasonal fruit platter for breakfast as some photos show on their website, but, the muesli and little fruit, apple juice and coconut milk was very adequate

"Russel and Verena are exceptional hosts, very entertaining and nothing is too much trouble. Excellent evening meal, breakfast delivered picnic style to our tent. Very private in the bush, loved it. Highly recommended"

It had to be expected but the rain falling on the tent made it hard to sleep, otherwise everything is good !

"Andrea was a wonderful host and this is the perfect place for a relaxing few days. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent and the whole place has a lovely atmosphere. We enjoyed the quiet evening, drinking wine in our jacuzzi outside the tent! Because the tents are grouped around a central area, it is perfect for a group of family/friends. We are already planning a return trip! My only concern though, would be if there were families with small children running around, it would disturb other guests. This is not really a place suitable for children, and ideally should be an adults only location."

"My son and I spent three weeks traveling around Puerto Rico and this was a wonderful addition to our trip. I love Pitahaya's focus on sustanability and eco traveling, the exclusion of single use water bottles (BRAVO) and attention to composting and recycling. This is something rarely seen on the island and greatly needed. The mattress in the tent was very comfortable and I absolutely loved showing under the stars. A great way to camp if you are unable to bring your personal camp gear or are simply looking for a more comfortable camping experience."

The main light in our tent would only last for a few seconds. We weren't aware that it was motion activated and that made it challenging to play board games and read at night.

"Labai įdomi patirtis, bent kartą gyvenime rekomenduojame išbandyti. Prie upės. Vaizdas maždaug iš visur panašus (visi kokonai panašiai į tą pačią pusę, vos kiek toliau ar arčiau upės). Galima žvejoti, yra kepsninės, virtuvėlė, dušai, tualetai, kavinukė registratūroje. Šalia virtuvėlės yra stalai pavalgyti lauke (bet reiktų pasiimti kokių nors apsaugų nuo uodų, nes vakarojant labai puolė uodai)."

Kokonų viduje nėra apšvietimo, gal ir nebūtina, bet bent elementus reiktų kiekvieną kartą patikrinti švieselių girliandose. mažai indų virtuvėlėje. Iš bendro šaldytuvo buvo pavogtas gėrimas, bet nuo to turbūt niekas neapsaugotas. Triukšmas iš smarkiai ir ilgai vakarojančių prie upės vidury nakties.

The road to get to the lodge was in terrible shape.

The staff was kind of noisy in the morning, especially by the kitchen.

There was nothing that I didn’t like. I would offer a suggestion that a mosquito net is put over the bed.
